Feeding Program

Great pork is grown, not rushed.

Genetics load the potential — feeding is how you unlock it. Our rations, timing, and finishing discipline are all built around one target: prime cuts.

Corn and grain feed

Philosophy

Clean feed. Patient finish.

Our hogs are fed a grain-forward diet centered on corn, small grains, and quality protein sources. Rations are adjusted at every stage of growth — not because it's fashionable, but because hogs at different weights genuinely need different feed.

We take our time on the finish. Rushing the final six weeks is the single fastest way to ruin a good hog. Boss Hogg's Prime Swine will always come off the farm a little older and a lot better than commodity pork.

No antibiotics for growth. No unnecessary shortcuts. Just steady, deliberate feeding that lets our Duroc genetics do what they were bred to do.

Stage by stage

A ration for every weight.

01

Nursery

Weaning – 60 lb

Highly digestible, protein-rich starter rations. We keep piglets on their mothers longer than most and transition slowly — quiet weaning turns into cleaner growth.

02

Grower

60 – 150 lb

Corn-and-soy grower ration balanced for steady frame growth. Pens are stocked lightly so every hog has room to move, root, and rest.

03

Finisher

150 – 260 lb

A denser finishing ration with fine-tuned energy levels. This is where marbling develops — and where the temptation to hurry has to be resisted.

04

Final Finish

260 lb +

The last four to six weeks are the difference between good pork and great pork. Rations are pulled back to let intramuscular fat set without excess back fat.
